The 3 papers by Ramachandrannair et al (SUDEP: What do adult patients want to know?, SUDEP: what do parents want to know?, SUDEP: To discuss or not? Recommendations from bereaved relatives) tries to address the difficult question of whether patients and/or family members would like to know about the risk of SUDEP, and if so- how and when to discuss it. Although the authors recommend a tailored approach to each situation to guide the best approach- patients and/or family members prefer to be informed about the risk by their neurologist at the time of diagnosis. Obvious limitations are survey method and small number of participants.
